SMB - Server message block protocol. Client server communication protocol to share access to files, printers, serial ports, etc

One establishes connection, clients can send commands (SMBs) to the server that allow them to access shares, open files read and write files, other etc stuff you can do with a file system.

UNIX Systems use - Samba (Open source server that supports SMB protocols)

smbclient - lets you access smb shares with smbclient //[ip-address]/[sharename] -U [user] go to man for more info. (Can try default creds - “Anonymous”,etc)
